We had a blast today on Mount Talbert Nature Park. =)
Eliot, Isabel, Silas and I were hiking the shortest loop. We heard a woodpecker and lots of songbirds, and saw one songbird (a western tanager maybe? Not sure), plus coyote scat and three deer. We went into this meadow to look at the deer, thinking it was also the trail. But it wasn't. It was a game trail, that we kept following. And kept following. Until it turned into more of a seasonal creek bed. And then we were just bushwhacking. We finally found the trail again, but boys and I wished we had been wearing pants. Kind of scratchy and wet.
