Happy 1-year Birthday, Eliot!

Today Eliot is one year old! And, of course, as cliched as it sounds, it has gone by so fast.

Eliot is up to lots of stuff. He still loves to eat. He gives kisses now if you ask for a kiss. He snuggles if you ask for a snuggle. If you ask him, "Where's such-and-such," he can point to his feet and his mouth and his socks and the dogs and his "piggy" toy, and a few other things too. He says: yes, no, dada, mama, duck, dog, and many many other things we don't understand yet. He can roar like a lion, quack like a duck, neigh like a horse, and "ooh ooh aah aah" like a monkey. He knows quite a few sign language signs (he tries to do the elephant sign and is so off, but it's really cute). He is able to stand on his own for a few seconds, and cruise around the room walking while holding on to furniture, and move between pieces of furniture. He is very opinionated about which books he wants to read (his favorite is a Spanish book about what sounds animals make; it's called "Miau"). He sleeps with a little plastic pink pig in his hand most nights ("piggy"), all night long; he even wakes up with it still in his hand. And he's in the 97th percentile for height. He is 31 inches now (maybe a bit more; I can't quite remember what the doc said on Friday; but it was at least 31, maybe 31 3/4 inches). He's still taking two naps. He's still nursing twice a day. And overall, he's a barrel of fun.
