Coco! drilo!

Eliot loves to say the word "cocodrilo." It means crocodile in Spanish. He used to just say "coco" to identify a crocodile. But a couple weeks ago, we were driving back from the zoo, and he was babbling in the backseat, and then he starts going, "Coco! Drilo! Coco! Drilo! Coco! Drilo!" Cute. He has said it a lot since, just like that, with a pause and an exclamation point after every other syllable.

This morning, when I went in to get him out of his crib, he starts pointing toward the top of his armoire (which is an antique and has this old carved wooden scrollwork of flowers and leaves) and says, "Coco! Drilo! Coco! Drilo!" It was pretty clear: Mom, there's a crocodile on top of the armoire!!!" He wasn't scared, but rather really excited. And said things like, "Wow, look at that, a cocodrilo!" And he said, still pointing, "Eyes." Like, the cocodrilo even has eyes; I see its eyes. It was really cute. Then his nanny, Val, came over, and I told her about it, and so he ran into his room and did it again, to show Val.

These pictures are of Eliot hiking with us in Forest Park in May 2010 (besides the scant hair, he looks like such a big boy) and of Eliot and Dad standing in the Ben & Jerry picture holes at the Ben & Jerry's near our house, I think in early July.
By the way, there are finally lots of new pictures on flickr, www.flickr.com/photos/bradyandnatalie
